Hello and welcome! I’m Yumi, an illustrator living in Illinois.

I grew up in the peaceful countryside of Gifu, Japan, where I spent much of my childhood exploring fields and forests. Every summer, my family went on weeks-long camping trips, and I loved sketching the places we visited for my school projects. In my 20s, I practiced oil painting and found inspiration while visiting art museums across Europe.

Currently, I work part-time as a designer, focusing on illustration and web design. I especially love drawing animals and nature scenes that bring a sense of comfort and a smile to people’s faces. When I’m not at my desk, you’ll probably find me walking through the nearby woods or browsing in a local library. I don’t have a lot to show just yet, but I’m slowly building up my portfolio—so stay tuned!
